- Apply whole of FYM along with N, P 2 O 5 and K 2 O at the time of field preparation.

| Irrigation |
- During dry season apply light irrigation at an interval of 10-15 days. One or two irrigations at the time of flowering and fruit set are essential.

| Interculture operation |
- The field should be kept free from weeds by giving two weeding and hoeing after four and eight weeks ofgermination.
- Usually, two hand weeding are sufficient.
- The weeds can also be controlled by application of pre-sowing herbicides Fluchloralin@ 0.75 a.i./ha or Pendimethalin @ 1.0 kg a.i. /ha.

- Pod borer : Spray Azadirachtin 0.03% (300ppm) thrice at fortnightly intervals.
- Aphids: Spray Methyl demeton 25 EC or Dimethoate 30 EC @ 1 ml/l of water or Cyantraniliprole 10.26 OD @ 0.6 ml/l of water
Diseases
Powdery mildew
- Spray wettable sulphur @ 2 g/l or dinocap @ 1 ml/l or dust sulphur @ 25 kg/ha thrice at 15 days interval.
